Privacy Policy

This policy covers contentswarm.io, the Content Swarm web application, the Content Swarm Chrome extension, our support channels and related services.

Content Swarm helps teams coordinate LinkedIn content and engagement, and offers AI assisted content and comment generation.

Account and contact data. First name, last name, email address, user ID, company email, team or swarm membership, subscription and billing records, and support messages.

LinkedIn connection data. LinkedIn identifiers, OAuth account information, access and refresh tokens, token status, granted permissions, company page information, and information returned by LinkedIn APIs.

Content data. LinkedIn post URLs and text, post author information, draft and published posts, generated or selected comments, reshare text, reactions, attachments, and content performance data.

Usage and technical data. IP address, browser and device information, cookies and similar technologies, session and security data, product events, page interactions, error logs and request information.

Contact form data. First name, email address and the message you send us.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered the impact on you and concluded that our interest does not override your rights. You can ask us for more detail about that assessment.

The Content Swarm application, API and database are hosted on Amazon Web Services in the US East (Ohio) region.

This means personal data you provide is processed outside the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. We rely on the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum under the AWS Data Processing Addendum as our transfer safeguard.

Some of our other service providers also process data outside the UK and EEA. The safeguard for each is set out on our Subprocessor Information page.

When you connect your LinkedIn account, you grant Content Swarm permissions through LinkedIn’s own consent screen. These include the ability to post content and comments on your behalf, which is what allows the service to work.

You can review and revoke these permissions at any time from your LinkedIn account settings, or by disconnecting LinkedIn inside Content Swarm. Disconnecting deletes the stored tokens.

The extension runs on LinkedIn and our own API, and adds Content Swarm controls to LinkedIn. It reads visible post text when you request a comment, sends that to our API, and stores your session and selected swarm locally. It does not access your browsing history, camera, microphone, location or downloads, and does not run on any other website.

We use OpenAI to power the AI features of the service. These are comment generation, reshare text generation, generating a similar post, and generating a new post. We also use OpenAI to produce periodic performance reports for a swarm, and internally to group duplicate application error reports.

Inputs can include our prompt instructions, the LinkedIn post text, your tone and length choices, and any example you supply. We do not add your name, email address or LinkedIn profile details to prompts. Data submitted to OpenAI through its API is not used to train OpenAI’s models.

AI output is a draft that you review and choose whether to use. We do not make automated decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to run the service, such as session and security cookies. These do not require your consent.

We also use analytics and product measurement tools to understand how the service is used and to improve it. The providers are listed on our Subprocessor Information page.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them, though some parts of the service may not work correctly if strictly necessary cookies are blocked. You can also object to our use of analytics by emailing support@contentswarm.io.

We use third party providers to run the service. Each one is listed, with its purpose, location and transfer safeguard, on our Subprocessor Information page.

We require every provider to be bound by data protection terms that protect your data to the standard applicable law requires.

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, to meet legal duties, or to resolve disputes.

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. These include encryption of data in transit, restricted production access, secure and HttpOnly session cookies with a limited lifetime, cross site request forgery protection, a restricted list of trusted origins, application logging and error monitoring.

Our security measures are described in Annex 2 of our Data Processing Agreement.

Content Swarm does not currently hold an external security certification such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2. Business customers who need further detail can request our security information by emailing support@contentswarm.io.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to review our controls regularly.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our processing of it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, email support@contentswarm.io. We will respond within one month, and will tell you if we need to extend that period.

If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to a data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

The service is intended for business users. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact support@contentswarm.io and we will delete it.

We will update this page when our practices change, and will change the date at the top. Where a change is material, we will tell account holders by email.
